Welcome to our website and first blog post. Firstly let me introduce myself my name is Michael Webber Griffiths, some of you will know me from my charter fishing boat Teddie Boy based in Minehead.
The idea for Speedbait was born from supplying excellent quality bait to the anglers who fished with me on the boat, the suppliers from whom we source our bait are some of the best in the UK without fail they are all passionate about their craft. The whole lockdown situation hit the charter fishing industry very hard and I knew I had to diversify my business to survive. So Speedbait was launched to supply top quality fishing bait to the public (and still to my charter customers once we are allowed out to sea again).
We offer a click and collect, free local delivery to the local area (within 8 miles from Minehead for orders over £20) and now mail order from the website. All are services comply with social distancing regulations to minimise physical contact between us and the customer.
Not wanting to toot our own horn too much but we are super proud of our products and the results anglers are getting whilst using them - for instance our mackerel is line caught in cornwall then blast frozen straight away after landing to maintain it in pristine condition. The mackerel are then collected by us using insulated transport and put straight in to our freezers.
